About us
Freelancing for Good is the global platform for impact-driven freelancers — connecting talented people with organisations doing meaningful work.
Freelancing for Good grew out of Freelance Success, a community founded during the pandemic to help freelancers navigate those difficult and uncertain times.
The idea for FFG came after co-founder Alistair first learned about the effective altruism movement — the principles of trying to do the most good you can, and using your career to make a positive difference on the things you care about.
We realised there was a big gap. Freelancers are consistently overlooked — both as a workforce and as a group who could significantly contribute to high-impact causes. There was no dedicated space for freelancers who wanted to use their skills for good.
So in May 2023, we launched a landing page. What started as an idea quickly grew into a community, job board, freelancer directory, and all-round platform that has become the go-to place for freelancers in the impact space — as well as the organisations who need them.
Today, 1,000+ freelancers from around the world are part of our community. We love connecting them with orgs who need their skills to create amazing things.
You choose your clients, your projects, and your values. That freedom is a superpower — and when pointed at the right problems, freelancers can have an outsized impact.
Freelancing can be lonely. We believe in building each other up — sharing knowledge, swapping leads, and making sure no one freelances alone.
We advocate for freelancers to be treated properly — fair pay, clear briefs, and real partnerships. Especially now, as AI is disproportionately affecting freelance work.

Co-founder
Alistair has been freelancing for 15+ years — a digital nomad before digital nomading was even a thing, working from his laptop across Spain and beyond. He's a speaking and confidence coach, AI consultant, and works with non-profits across the impact space. He builds FFG's technology and tools, including the AI Brief Creator.

Co-founder
Maja has worked across corporate, startup, and freelance — including SaaS startups — before settling into freelance life. She's a marketer and founder of Scrappy Marketing. At FFG, she's the community connector — running onboarding, events, and making sure every member feels at home.
We have ambitious plans for Freelancing for Good. We're growing the community, building new tools, and advocating for freelancers to be treated as the skilled professionals they are — especially as AI reshapes the way we work.
If you're an organisation, partner, or sponsor who shares our mission — we'd love to hear from you.
Whether you're a freelancer looking for meaningful work or an organisation looking for talent — there's a place for you here.
